Embarking on a Second Adventure: Celebrating Songkran in Thailand

Finally, the moment I’ve eagerly looking forward to has arrived. My second journey to Thailand is about to begin, this time in April to immerse myself in the vibrant celebrations of the Songkran festival and ofcourse to see my wife Noi again. For this adventure, I’ve opted for a direct flight with KLM to Bangkok, simplifying my travel plans and heightening my excitement.

Packing for this trip felt different – a mix of familiarity and new expectations. Gathering my belongings and documents, I embarked on my journey on Easter Sunday, catching the train to Schiphol Airport. To my surprise, the airport was unusually quiet, and the security check was a breeze, taking no more than 15 minutes.

However, my anticipation was slightly dampened by a 1.5-hour flight delay. Time seemed to crawl as I waited at the airport, trying to find ways to pass the time. Despite the delay, my spirits remained high, buoyed by the thought of the upcoming festivities and the warm embrace of Thailand that awaited me.

Finally, boarding the plane, I settled into my seat, a mix of relief and excitement coursing through me. As the plane took off, I couldn’t help but reflect on the journey ahead. Celebrating Songkran in Thailand, experiencing its culture, traditions, and the welcoming spirit of its people, was a dream come true. This trip promised not just a physical journey but a deep dive into the heart of Thai festivities and an opportunity to create lasting memories.

As the plane soared towards Bangkok, I looked forward to the adventures that lay ahead, ready to embrace all the joys, challenges, and surprises that traveling brings. The journey to celebrate Songkran in Thailand was not just a vacation; it was a pilgrimage to the heart of Thai culture and tradition, promising an experience filled with joy, water, and unforgettable moments.
