Happy to be back in Pattaya

My first day back in Pattaya has been nothing short of a serene embrace, a gentle reminder of the joy found in simplicity. The bustling life I left behind in the Netherlands seems worlds away as I settle into the calm and contentment of Noi’s simpler way of life here. It’s moments like these that make you realize happiness isn’t tethered to the material possessions we often hold so dear back home.

Our day started leisurely, with a visit to the local market and the Makro, immersing ourselves in the vibrant colors and sounds of local Thai life. The simplicity of this routine, selecting fresh ingredients and interacting with local vendors, offered a profound sense of connection to the place and its people.

The afternoon took us to the serene slopes of Pratumnak Hill, a spot in Pattaya that offers a tranquil escape from the city’s energetic pulse. Here, over coffee and pastries, we were treated to a breathtaking view of Pattaya City stretching out below us. The calmness of this setting, paired with the delicious indulgence of our snacks, provided a perfect moment of relaxation and reflection.

A leisurely walk around Pratumnak further deepened our appreciation for Pattaya’s quieter side before we headed back to our favorite local restaurant in Naklua Soi 16. The familiarity of the place, coupled with the anticipation of Noi’s cooking, wrapped up our day beautifully.

Evening fell, and with it came the enjoyment of Noi’s culinary creations, a fitting end to a day marked by simplicity, tranquility, and the warmth of companionship. Today reaffirmed that happiness is found in the moments we share, the simplicity we embrace, and the life we choose to lead, far away from the materialistic pursuits of our other lives.

As I reflect on this day, I’m filled with gratitude for the serene life here in Pattaya, a stark but welcome contrast to the hustle and bustle I know elsewhere. It’s days like these that remind me of the true essence of happiness, found in the simple pleasures and the beauty of living a life less complicated.
